A WONDERFUL PLACE TO CALL HOME

Bainbridge Island is a truly wonderful and unique place to live. I can’t think of a better place to raise my family. Growing up on the waterfront in Maine, I have always loved living in a rural setting near the water. I also appreciate being close to a major city. Bainbridge Island has that small town feel; it is rural in nature, safe, friendly, has great schools, acres of parks, beaches and a real sense of community. We are only a 35-minute ferry ride away from Seattle where culture thrives in its many facets. Seattle hosts great theatre, fine seafood, professional sports, a stable economy and incredible natural beauty in the entire Puget Sound Region. No wonder they call it the Emerald City! While many islanders earn their living in the city, most are dedicated to preserving the Island’s semi-rural atmosphere. I see myself in a position to educate my clients on how to balance concern for the environment while protecting your property rights. When you purchase a home or property on Bainbridge, you may confront hurdles that are unfamiliar to you. That can be scary sometimes. As a Listing Agent, I represent a few high-end builders and I understand how they think. This helps me explain the entire building process and create realistic expectations with buyers. My New Construction clients quickly learn the difference between good builders and bad. Recognizing where shortcuts are being made can be difficult to discern for the untrained eye. I point out defects or shoddy workmanship as well as quality choices in materials and superior execution of craftsmanship. You will find my knowledge of the latest products and the building codes helpful in making the right choices. My goal is to help you recognize value and keep to your budget.

ABOUT ME

I born and raised in Falmouth, Maine on waterfront property developed by my grandmother. My early years were spent learning to ski, sail and play hockey. My love for the outdoors grew while attending Holderness School in New Hampshire and St. Lawrence Univ. in upstate New York, After graduation in 1982, I packed my car, headed west and landed in Park City, Utah. I spent the next six years building very large and expensive homes in Deer Valley and Park City. My free time was always spent in the mountains . . . skiing, ice climbing and rock climbing. I discovered Bainbridge on a climbing trip to the Northwest in 1984 and stayed the entire summer. I returned again in 1986 and in 1988 moved here to call it home. Here I found the perfect combination of the waterfront I missed from growing up in Maine and the mountains I grew to love in Utah. I am frequently working on restoring my 1906 Eagledale farmhouse. My son Jordan is 19, and enjoys hiking, kayaking and skiing too. Now he is flying airplanes too!
